The Masera continues its run

The Masera continues its run. It's the Piedmont Cup semi-final!
It was thought that Sunday's "in or out" match against La Chivasso would be challenging for the Masera girls, forced to win to enter the semi-finals.
It was indeed a difficult game, despite the fact that the opponents presented themselves with one less player due to numerous absences, because the Turinese had the merit of fighting with all their strength to try at least to get the draw that would have been worth the passage of the turn, while the girls of Tortora struggled to impose their game, blocked by the tension due to the stakes and the heat that characterized the afternoon in Cavallirio (neutral camp where the challenge was played).
The match did not offer many ideas and was decided in a few episodes. The first after just ten minutes, with the goal of the advantage of the Maseresi: ball in depth for Pullano on the right, who in an attempt to kick in the goal realizes instead a perfect cross on the second pole for Piolini, who does not miss the opportunity and right hand bag.
The second at the 35 ', when Martina Cerini served in depth, anticipates goalkeeper and defender of the opposing team, with the latter who, in a desperate attempt to stop the conclusion on goal, extends it to the edge of the area. Red direct and opponents in 9.
The third instead in the second half with the masterpiece goal of Noretta: action on the center right of Rovereti that serves a perfect assist to the young midfielder, who from the central area in the race kicks first intention and stabs the innocent goalkeeper who can only watch the shot slip behind him.
The 2 at the 0 final thus gives the Masera the chance to play for the semi-final of the Piedmont Cup against the PVF, ranked first in the other group. A challenge that promises to be extremely balanced, given that the two teams have a head-to-head victory in seasonal clashes in the league and in the standings have ended at just one point away from each other (in Turin's favor).
The program includes a two-way round trip to the 24 in May and the 14 in June (at the moment it is not yet established who will be the first to play at home).
The PVF is certainly the most difficult opponent that ours have met this year together with the Biellese, and the ranking legitimizes this consideration, given that the three teams have sampled for themselves, fighting until the last day for the promotion in series C.
"A Masera will surely be better than the one we saw today - coach Tortora commented at the end of the game - because the next two matches can be worth a whole year of sacrifices and we need to rediscover the spirit that has accompanied us throughout year if we want to spend the shift ".
The appointment with the season finale for the Ossola is therefore postponed at least by 180 ', in the hope then of prolonging this time and seeing them also play the final of the Piedmont Cup the next 21 June.
