Last week saw the start of the Danube Nations Cup 2016 Preliminary Phase, the biggest 12 soccer tournament in the world with 2,5 millions of athletes among 10 and 12 years coming from over 40 countries, which takes place in Italy a competition entirely dedicated to the female component under the direction of the FIGC Youth and Scholastic Sector.
In Palma Campania, last Friday, the 2 group of the Central South Italy Area took place, which was giving away a place for the Inter-Regional Phase in Rome on May 7, where AS Roma, ASD Roma, are already qualified by right Women's Football and the US City of Palermo. Among the three Neapolitan teams in the field, the Asd Napoli Calcio Femminile has been imposed which has passed with two wins in as many races the girls of SSC Napoli and ASD Virtus Partenope.

To complete the picture of the group from five teams will have to wait now the development of the 1 group of the Central South Italy Preliminary Phase, which will take part three teams from Puglia: the Fc Bari 1908, ASD Pink Sport Time and ASD Apulia Trani.

It was undoubtedly a beautiful afternoon of football last Friday, as well as an opportunity for young athletes to compare with other girls of the same age, as told by Carmela Uva, defender class 2004 dell'ASD Virtus Partenope: "It was an event where we had a lot of fun. It was nice to finally play against other girls of our age, after all a year in which we played against the males. We spent a nice afternoon doing what we like to do more, in the company of other girls who like us have fun playing football ". Maximum fair play in the field between girls and technical staff.

The format of the competitions, and especially the shootouts, is also very appreciated, as emphasized by the ASD Napoli Calcio Femminile coach, Doriana Irace: "The Danone Nations Cup has been a great experience for girls, the format is certainly positive and it is interesting also the shootout test, which highlights the purely technical aspect and that especially in this category is very stimulating ". The ASD Napoli Calcio Femminile technician then makes the point about the moment he is experiencing women's football in Italy: "The potential catchment area is enormous, and we see it with our youth teams. The fact that the Youth and Scholastic Sector promotes this kind of initiatives is good for the whole movement. Unfortunately, all-female teams are still few, and we often find ourselves playing against boys' teams, which is not the best for girls, especially from a physical point of view. So that there are good events like the Danone Nations Cup, which allows young soccer players to have fun doing what they love most with girls of their own age ".

Also Vittorio Esposito, head of the youth sector of ASD Virtus Partenope, Elite soccer school, applauds the organization of the Danone Nations Cup: "The path to become Scuola Calcio Elite has been long and difficult but we are happy to be the only Elite company of pure female sector in Campania and among the very few in Italy We are very happy and satisfied to have taken part in this fantastic tournament that has allowed our girls to confront other realities of women's football. The women's movement is growing a lot thanks to these initiatives that encourage companies to create a female youth sector and thus create a basis for the future of the Italian movement ".
