The US victory brought the curtain down on the eighth edition of the Women's World Cup. And if in any case the outcome was the one announced, with the national team of stars and stripes which once again confirmed itself as World Champion as expected, surprises were certainly not lacking. The girls of CT Bertolini made a whole country proud, surrendering to the quarter-finals only to Holland, which later proved to be the greatest antagonist of the US.
